The Heat is On...

Nathan Detroit needs a thousand bucks to secure a venue for his floating crap game, which so happens to be oldest and most established floating crap game in New York. Perhaps Nathan can win a bet against Sky Masterson, the biggest gambler of them all, in order to obtain the required dough. Nathan bets Sky that he can't take uptight mission doll Sarah Brown on a date to Havana ('cos after all, mission dolls don't go no place). But Sergeant Sarah has other troubles, what with the General wanting to close down the mission on account of the serious sinner shortage. And as for Miss Adelaide, after being engaged to Nathan for fourteen years, she's finally preparing for their elopement. It’s sure to work out just fine - as long as Nathan isn't running his crummy crap game again…

Based on the stories of Damon Runyon, Guys & Dolls is packed with some of Frank Loesser's most memorable songs (Luck Be A Lady, Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat) and Abe Burrow's quick-fire patter. GMT is delighted to be returning to the Brian Cox Studio Theatre for six intimate performances of this Broadway classic. With a tight-knit cast, minimal staging and a touch of prohibition-era shabby chic, this production of Guys & Dolls promises to be a little bit different to the rest.
